I was reviewing website stats today and noticed some hits from DallasWeddingPlanner.com. I followed the link back and saw that Sera and SangDo's wedding was a featured real wedding! Check it out.

My wife Kerri and I recently traveled to Paris, TX to photograph Amber and David's wedding at Calvary United Methodist Church. The reception followed afterwards at Heritage Hall.

Kerri and I met Amber through her sister Shelly. Shelly and her husband Jeremy are friends of ours from church and also clients. Amber and David are the sweetest people you will ever meet. Both are gentle and soft spoken and altogether lovely. Thanks again for having us out to Paris. We had a lot of fun.

Amber and David will receive a free 5x7 print for every comment left on their blog entry during the month of January.

Some getting ready action.

David got Amber these pearls.

Amber got David a new guitar.

No cash, but maybe there is a way.

It's time!

The 2008 Spring/Summer edition of The Knot is on the shelves. My photograph of Hiep and Mychele on the Vespa is on page 289. I learned today this photo ran nationally and appears in the various regional issues. Check it out!

The results of the Q3 Wedding Photojournalist Association contest were announced last night and two of my photos placed! This quarter's contest was especially meaningful to me because the judges are distinguished members of the VII Photo Agency.

This photo from Marissa and Gary's wedding placed 3rd in the emotion category:

Here are the judge's comments:
Great moment with brilliant contrast between two faces / two expressions of emotion. Nice contrasts of young and old / boy and woman.

This photo from Karla and Blake's wedding placed 15th in the groom getting ready category:

See all the latest contest winners!

I travelled to Bullard Texas this past weekend for Julie and Evan's Wedding at First Baptist Church of Bullard. The reception followed at Eagle's Bluff Country Club. Julie and Evan are an a amazing couple surrounded by amazing people whose commitment to each other and to their faith was apparent to me the moment I met them. Turns out Julie, Evan, and some of their friends were counselors at a summer camp (Pine Cove) we send our sons to. That explains the wackiness! :-)

Julie and Evan will receive a free 5x7 print for every comment left on their entry during the month of November.

The guys and girls were pretty much ready when they showed up to the church. Just had to figure out how to put the dress on.

Julie can hardly wait.

Julie and the flowergirl watch as guests arrive.

A moment (almost) alone together after the ceremony.

Friends and family find us.

An usher reacts to two twenty squirts of Cool Mint PocketMist.

Mom checks out the bling.

Off to the reception and right into the first dance.

A paper football game breaks out following dinner.

I know it's an Office reference but I missed the context here. Still makes me giggle.

My son Preston helped me with the lightstick. That's him in the background. Thank you, thank you.

The guys request Knights of Cydonia by Muse which prompts lots of air guitar and moshing.

Keep your eye on the ball garter is not taught in East Texas. :)

Off to the limousine helicopter.

Liftoff!
