Last Saturday I shot Mychele and Hiep's wedding - 15 hours of coverage including a tea ceremony! It was a long day but it was also a lot of fun. The ceremony was at Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church and the reception at Empress Palace Restaurant - both in Arlington, Texas.

The bouquet got caught in the light during the toss so we had a do over.

It was hot but we made it through! I can't wait to shoot the wedding this month!

From time to time I receive emails about gear. I try to keep it simple. I shoot most of the day with a wide angle lens (16-35mm or 24mm ) on the 5D and the 50mm or 85mm on a 30D. Unless shooting formals or portraits, I shoot a pure PJ style. Nothing is "staged" or "setup". Since most couples find me through the WPJA, they're looking for this style. I've found the less gear I have to lug around, the more I can move quickly and stay focused on what's happening around me.

I recently purchased some Pocket Wizards for a simple off camera lighting setup (Speedlight fired into an umbrella) that I use for formals and reception stuff.

Jessica and Patrick were married this past Saturday at Flower Mound Community Church in Flower Mound, Texas. The reception followed at Denton Country Club. Here are some of my favorites.
